Project Basics

Heated/cooled interior square footage to be built.
A quick starting point. Rural/smaller markets lean lower; big coastal cities lean higher.

For homeowners: Prices vary by location. If your area tends to run higher or lower than average, slide this left (cheaper) or right (costlier). Not sure? Leave at 1.00 and adjust after you calculate.
Diameter = width of the dome at the base, in feet. Helpful for sanity checks and planning.

Design & Envelope

Overall interior finish quality. Higher levels include upgraded materials and detailing.
More domes add complexity and connectors, which increases cost.
Taller shells add area and materials — good for lofts; expect a modest cost increase.
How much of the shell surface is windows/doors. More glazing = more cost.
Choose a partial or full basement to add livable/storage space under the dome.
Thicker shotcrete/rebar increases strength and cost. Use for larger spans or engineering needs.
Alternate mixes can improve performance or sustainability; they’re typically pricier.
How many skylight/oculus openings you want at the shell.
Links domes or adds entry tunnels. Longer connectors add more shell work.
Number of bedrooms in the conditioned dome(s).
Total count of full/half baths. Plumbing scales with bathroom count.
Count of utility/garage domes (no interiors/MEP/glazing).
Square footage for each non-conditioned dome.

Site & Systems

Steeper grades, rock, or tricky access increase costs.
More zones, smart systems, or specialty equipment increase mechanical/electrical/plumbing costs.
If unchecked, sitework/rough grading is assumed by owner/others.
Enable if a new driveway is needed. Typical rural drives are 50–150 ft.

Optional Systems

Other Site Factors

Remote sites add logistics for crews, materials, and equipment.
If reliable power isn’t available for Airform inflation, choose the generator option.

Contingency

A planning cushion for the unknowns (design decisions, site surprises, market swings).
